NEWSLETTER FROM HEHEAD OF SCHOOL

Dear Parents and Guardians,
It is my pleasure to welcome all our returning families and extend a special welcome to the new parents joining our school community. We are grateful that you have chosen to partner with us in your children’s education. We look forward to a successful year of learning, growth and shared achievement.
The first three weeks of the school year have been lively and full of exciting activities. We began on Monday, 14 September, with our WEB Day—Welcome Back, Everyone! It was wonderful to see our pupils return, reconnect with their friends and settle into the new school year.
We also welcomed our new parents to an orientation where we introduced the school’s vision and purpose, our departments and learning programmes, and the communication channels available to families. We hope the session helped you feel informed and at home in our community. We are committed to keeping communication open and working closely with you to support every child.

Learning and assessment
Baseline assessments have been conducted for pupils in the Key Stage classes. These assessments help us understand each child’s current learning needs and plan appropriate support and next steps. We will share the outcomes with parents during the school’s Target Meetings. We value your participation in these conversations as we work together to set meaningful goals for your child.

Celebrating health and culture
Our pupils marked this year’s World Health Day with a range of engaging activities and an informative health talk. The celebration gave them an opportunity to learn more about healthy habits and the importance of caring for their well-being.
We also celebrated Nigeria’s Independence during Culture Day, with the theme “Celebrating Our Heritage, Building Our Future.” It was a wonderful occasion to recognise the richness of our culture and reflect on the role our heritage plays in shaping the future. Thank you to all the parents who attended and shared in the celebration. Your presence meant a great deal, and the children were delighted to see you.

Supporting our examination-class pupils
I would like to express my sincere appreciation to parents of pupils in the examination classes. Thank you for your continued commitment to getting your children ready for the 7:00 a.m. Maths drills and supporting their attendance at the after-school classes. Your consistency and encouragement help our pupils build confidence, practise regularly and prepare well for their examinations.

Staying connected
Parents are warmly encouraged to take advantage of our Wednesday Parents–Teachers Morning, held from 7:30 to 8:00 a.m. These sessions provide an opportunity to speak with teachers, ask questions and share information that can help us support your child’s learning and well-being. We value your voice and welcome your partnership.
“The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it away from you.” — B.B. King
This first month has been filled with activity, new beginnings and opportunities to learn. Thank you for your trust, participation and continued support. When school and home work together, our pupils are better equipped to thrive.
I look forward to a rewarding year with you and your children.

Warm regards,
Head of School
